Messy-Desk-sm.png A Message from the Minister’s Messy Desk

I have always felt a bit of excitement around Palm Sunday. Perhaps it is because it
feels like the ending of one chapter and the beginning of another. Perhaps it is because it is
the start to the holiest of weeks. But truthfully I think it is because I love parades! As the
vaccine roll out continues and we hear of gentle changes to public health orders I am
cautiously optimistic,which means that this Palm Sunday has a little added excitement. I
pray that you will find joy and peace this coming week but also much hope! I would
encourage you to participate in the upcoming shared services to help make space for hope.
Please note that on Sundays we are returning to our “usual pattern” and our Palm Sunday
and Easter services will be live streamed on YouTube at 10:30am.

On Thursday at 10:30am anyone interested is invited to a time of “Virtual Coffee Hour”
over Zoom. There is no agenda, simply a chance to catch up and chat! This even is hosted
by Marion Lade and Erica Farrell and you can connect:

April 2nd: A LIVE Good Friday service will be provided by St. George’s United Church at

April 4th: A LIVE Sunrise service will be provided by Cumberland Weird Church at
6:45am it can be found here:
Our regular Easter service will be live streamed at 10:30am on our YouTube channel.
Rev. Jenn will be on study leave April 5-12th. A pre-recorded service will be available on
April 11th.
The Mission Committee has chosen to continue to support the Comox Valley Head Injury

Society, in honour of Gordon Johnson, and the Mt. Washington Ski Patrol, in honour of Al
Wedel, for our lenten project this year. You can donate to the lenten project through your
envelopes by marking it on the “other” line or through our canadahelps webpage which
you can access by clicking the “Donate Now” button on our website.
