A Message from the Minister’s Messy Desk

Following the announcements from our Provincial Health Officer on Monday we will continue to provide worship services via our YouTube channel, over the radio at 89.9FM and in print form. There will be no in-person worship or meetings and no non-emergency pastoral care visits. Remember, however, that “being the church” is not limited to our building or seeing one another face to face. This Christmas may not include some of the large gatherings it has in the past but it will still afford us opportunities to be the church and shine the light of Jesus in our hurting world. At this time of year we celebrate God-with-us and so no matter the physical distances that are in place God surpasses them all and walks right beside us.

Also on Monday it was announced that Drive-In services would be allowed. This means our Drive-In Christmas Eve Service at 4pm is a go! Please note that there are still some strict regulations to follow. Due to the fact that we are limited in how many cars are permitted on site we ask that you register at

  • Please note that you will not be permitted to leave your vehicle and the windows are to be rolled up
  • Please turn your vehicle off (do not idle) and therefore bring a blanket/ wear warm clothes
  • Also bring a flashlight or battery powered candle to help you see the songbook
  • Tune into 89.9FM
  • The service will be between 30-45mins.

If the weather is clear Carol Anne and I will be outside on the grass at the corner of the building in front of a spotlight.

If it is rainy or windy we will be inside the church (to protect the equipment)

If it is snowing we will reconsider whether the service is a safe thing to do

The Joy to the World Committee has done an incredible job of providing a virtual version of our display. Thank you to all who were involved!! Please see the invitation below and feel free to send the link to family and friends abroad! DVDs will also be available for those without a computer. Please contact the office if you would like a DVD.

Other Updates From Session:

The session is immensely grateful for the work of our chair of the Building and Maintenance Committee, Dave Sherstone! His term of chair is complete starting Jan 1st.

Following limited responses for a volunteer to chair the committee the session has decided to proceed with hiring a Maintenance Coordinator. A job description and remuneration are being discussed by a small committee.
